While I still learned valuable lessons and take-aways from this book, it was very dated (even though I bought the updated version) in it's claims and cited research. It assumes you are not living together before marriage and comes at most problems and example situations this way. Many of the examples seem straight up silly and ridiculous if you're already living together.It also assumes you are both Christians and following more traditional Christian relationship precepts.I would have liked the book's description to have called out these assumptions so I could have made a better informed decision if this would fit out pre-marital counseling needs. Had I known these things, I wouldn't have purchased this book. (Though if you are both Christian, following the traditional precepts and not living together before your wedding day, this book will meet your needs) I am a relationship coach.
